Letter to the Editor

Donald B. Whalen: Confirmed Socialist for Oval Office?

Would you knowingly put a confirmed socialist in the Oval Office? That’s exactly what we will do if Obama wins the election come the 4th of November. His election will not be a victory for the Democrats, but will rather be the beginning of Socialism in this country.

Donald B. Whalen: Vice President's debate with Governor Palin

6 October 2008
During the Vice President's debate with Governor Palin some nights ago (October 4th), Senator Biden didn't miss the chance to display his arrogance when he bragged about the shameful hatchet job he and Ted Kennedy did on the Honorable Judge Bork who was seeking confirmation for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

They crucified Bork whose only crime was being a strict constructionist who believes what the Constitution actually says and not what the liberals and the ACLU wish it to say.

"Letters to the Editor"

Dear Editor,

Facing high taxes, mounting debt and a deteriorating infrastructure, what does Scranton City Council choose to do?

The answer is they have cancelled more meetings than any Council in recent memory. In the past, City Council was often criticized as being a "Do-nothing Council." I agree that past Councils have done very little to help the people of Scranton, but at least they met to hear the concerns of the residents.

Conservatives Should Reject John McCain

 Dear Editor,

 Conservatives should reject John McCain.

On almost every major issue, McCain’s position is opposite that of traditional conservatives

Concerning illegal immigration, McCain is in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens, just like left win Sen. Edward Kennedy. In regard to support for the Second Amendment, McCain’s record is so bad that he was put in the hall of shame by Gun Owners of America. McCain has repeatedly voted or increasing federal spending on public education. He has often voted to increase spending on food stamps.

Just last month on the show "This Week," McCain hinted that he would support increasing the payroll tax as a way to shore up Social Security.

Vince Morabito: What's wrong with the news today...

Dear Editor,
Diminutive actor Verne Troyer, known best as “Mini-Me” in the “Austin Powers” movies, is suing his ex girlfriend for releasing video snippets of the two of them having sex.

Willie Speare: 1st Amendment Rights

Dear Editor,
Supporters of labor unions insist that according to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, management must recognize and also be willing to bargain with unions. To back up this claim, the unions are using the National Labor Relations Act.
This interpretation of the First Amendment, however, is flawed and is illegitimate. Most people today are unaware of how the National Labor Relations Act came into being.
